HOW WE MAKE IT

As per the instructions left by Giovanni Fabbrizii, we produce our Amaro in a natural way, with a selection of herbs native of the Apennines, complemented by the exotic touch of cascarilla bark from the Antilles. We pestle the herbs and leave them in an alcoholic cold infusion for 20 days. The bitter is subsequently refined in its aromas for 40 days, and then it is finally bottled. A small production dedicated to our distillery’s visitors in the Aveto Valley is also aged in fine wooden barrels: oak, chestnut, black locust, cherry and ash tree.

A RECIPE FROM THE PAST

It went out of production around 1940, but we have rediscovered it: it was right there, with its secret ingredients, in our great grandfather’s liquor making guide, lost for so many years and found in an old cabinet.
Today the famous Amaro Fabbrizii is back, the same “digestive tonic liquor” enjoyed by the Italian aristocracy during the Belle Époque and, even then, delivered all over Italy to anyone who knew how to drink well.
This really is a bitter “just like back then”: it has a story that needs to be both told and tasted…

HOW TO DRINK IT

Amaro Fabbrizii is delicious at room temperature or ice cold in a shot glass or a tasting glass.
